BISCHOF'S FLYFISHING

DESCHUTES RIVER SUMMER FISHING REPORT 2008

CURRENT CONDITIONS - JULY-

TROUT

fThe river is in good condition.  The hot weather is great for abundant caddis fly hatches.  Mornings and evenings are most productive for consistent caddis dry fly fishing.  Nymph, dry and dropper combinations, and wet flys are best for the mid day where trout can be found in riffles and faster deep pocket water along the banks.

STEELHEAD

The steelhead are starting their journey into the very lower reaches of the Deschutes river and we expect the fish to start showing up in larger numbers below the Maupin area by mid to end of August.  Seprtember through October are the  prime weeks for hooking into a steelhead.
